Videographer or No Videographer?

August 15th, 2011 by

wedding wedding planning, 600x600 1291785058591 m5 1I’m not going to lie, I was anti-videographer in a big way. I didn’t get it when I had heard time and time again from friends and family that their only regret was that they didn’t have a videographer. Why I wondered? Photographers are always a given, but really a videographer in my mind was unnecessary. What could a videographer capture that a photographer wouldn’t? When would we watch it? Despite all  hesitations and trepidation, my fiance and I succumbed to the requests of our family and looked into it. We decided on what we didn’t want. Corny background music, narration/interviews of my guests or montages. The videographers that fell into any of those categories weren’t even a consideration. We were starting to believe that no one was going to measure up to what we had in mind that is until we stumbled upon Fandango Studios. Ram Hernandez owner of Fandango Studios opened our minds to videography that had a level of creativity unmatched by anyone else we had seen and most importantly an eye for capturing the moment. He was able to bring soul to the footage he captured and we were hooked instantly. One of the {many} unique services he offers is the ability to create a video save-the-date, which my fiance and I have decided to do. I’m sure you will understand why we love him when you see these clips.

Bridal Stage Fright

I recently added my up and coming videographer, Kolby of Aria Studios, on Facebook, and was introduced to her latest collection of wedding videos, ranging from ceremony highlights to movie trailers to love stories about the bride and groom.  The first video I watched was her new demo video, which was so beautifully done that I was swept up in a wave of emotions.  Let’s just say, I was semi-teary, Tuberose Dude noticed and said “Your eyes are shiny,” and then I really became teary.  I couldn’t help it!  It seems that the closer it is to the wedding, the more emotional I get.  Trust me, you’re going to be an emotional wreck too.  Just see the video for yourselves:

Isn’t it just the coolest video ever?

If a Picture is Worth 1000 Words

February 10th, 2009 by

So, if a picture is worth 1,000 words, and a video is essentially a large number of still pictures strung together- how many words is a video worth?

Videography is a growing trend among brides these days. I’ve seen a number of wedding videos. Some better than others. Audio always leaving something to be desired.

It’s hard for me to pinpoint, but there is something that rubs me the wrong way about having videographer document your wedding.
