While I’m sure each of you have given lots of thought to what gorgeous dress you will wear on your special day, but have you given that much thought to your shoes? Well lately, this decision has been front and center in mind. My goal for our wedding reception is to dance the night away and do that all the while not having to change shoes. I’ve been to a few too many weddings where the bride has started out in crazy heels, then takes them off for comfort (don’t blame her on that one!) and then is lugging around her dress so it doesnt drag too much on the floor. So while I think crazy heels are pretty and fun, I will be steering clear of them for our wedding. I want to be comfortable and not tower over Mr. Peach (he is about 5 inches taller than me). So I’m debating between a very low heel or even flats which would make me SUPER happy.
While I’m very traditional with some of our nuptial details, shoes will not be one of them. I am not a white shoe type of girl and have been committed to use my shoe choice as a way to show off my fashionista side. I’m debating between silver glitter and hot pink (to match my girls’ dresses). So far I haven’t found the perfect pink shoe, but I have found 2 sliver glitter options. The first option are AMAZING flats that I can’t find anywhere:

If anyone knows where I can find these Stuart Weitzman Lastikon Flats PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!

Tom’s Shoes has gone bridal! Do you approve?
I love Tom’s Shoes mission statement and their One for One campaign of giving a pair of new shoes to a child in need everytime a pair of their shoes is bought. BUT….I can’t help but hate their bridal line. I could never imagine walking down the aisle in these. To me, they scream “casual,” which I personally do not associate with a wedding.
What do you think? Would you wear these?
This won’t work for everyone, but if at all possible, skip the shoes!

I’ve never been someone obsessed with shoes. I mean, I have a ton of them, but they’re basically a hodge podge of clearance shoes i’ve collected (I mean my shoe size hasn’t changed in over 15 years!). From following all the brides here, and on twitter, I got a little crazy for wanting super cute bright colored pumps for my wedding. My wedding was on a beach. Talk about not practical! I was tempted for a pair of Louboutins, but in the end. I’m glad I did save. I spent $2.99 on a pair of sandals. I was barefoot for the ceremony, and slipped them on for the “dance party” afterwards. They were perfect.

I’m a fan of the shoe. I think that the right pair really does make the outfit. When it comes to bridal shoes, I LOVE the current trend of shoes that match the colors of your wedding. Unfortunately, Olive Mom isn’t so sold on this, so I’ll probably be rocking equally-awesome, but definitely a-shade-of-white shoes.
Nevertheless, I stumbled across a super awesome etsy site: La Plume Ethere

You may need back-up for some of these options (most have about a 4.5 inch) after an hour on the dance floor – but seriously how gorgeous are they? Prices range from $65-$110.

Uh huh. You read that right.
So yes. I love colored shoes. But even I wasn’t going to purchase shoes before purchasing my dress.
When I went dress-shopping, one of the boutiques I went to had me put on actual “wedding” shoes to try their dresses on with. It was one of the first boutiques I went to.
Here’s what they looked like:

Nothing too exciting, and very far from the gorgeous shoe inspiration I had seen previously! I quickly dismissed them.

…that a new pair of shoes can change your life!

Isn’t that the truth?!

I have 10 months until my wedding so from a timeline perspective, it is a bit early to be thinking about my wedding shoes. But like some other ladies in the garden, I have an obsession with shoes so it is only natural that I want some truly amazing shoes to adorn my feet while I walk down the aisle.
I have had my eye on the pearl rubber and red heart Vivienne Westwood + Melissa shoes since last summer. It was a sad case of love at first sight. The only problem is they sold out in a split second, never to be seen again. That is, until last week when I came across the same shoes but in ice blue and pale gray rubber. I was not going to let these puppies get away again so it was time to act. How could I not? We are talking about SCENTED rubber shoes! They came two days later and I can’t stop wearing them around the house. These next 10 months can’t come soon enough!
Here are the beauties and their grand appearance -

If you talk to Lovebug, he’ll be more than happy to tell you: I have an obsession with shoes. He playfully (and sometimes not so playfully) jabs at me for having a shoe for every day of the year. He HATES how I leave them all over the house–or both houses to be exact. But, ladies, back me up here. When I get home from work, the first thing I want to do is kick those babies off my feet–wherever that may be. I think it’s only human (and maybe woman’s) nature. At least that’s what I tell him.
So when it comes to picking out my shoes for the big day, I’ve been looking for a while. I know I’ve got the time, but I really want the right shoe. I know that I want dark green shoes. The color green is another obsession of mine (another that Lovebug takes it stride). I’ve been looking around for a while now and just haven’t had much luck. Most green shoes that I find are this horrendous lime or snot green. No, no. That will not do. I’ve even talked with people about having them dyed. I’m willing to do this, I’m just very nervous about how they will turn out. What if it comes out all wrong? How do you even choose who will dye them?

After multiple fruitless shoe shopping trips my sister, my cousin and myself piled into the bride mobile (aka my car) for a field trip to The World’s Largest Shoe Store… or Reyers in Sharon Pennsylvania. We were bound to find something for both of the Lilac sisters to wear when wed!

Whether or not Reyers is really the world’s largest shoe store, I don’t know. But it is fairly big and the signs say so! (Visit them online at reyers.com)

Remember those shoes I showed you in my last post, well, Moon Dude and I were in NYC for a day and just so happened *wink* to walk past the Christian Louboutin boutique on Madison. So he and I stopped in, much to my excitement. And while they didn’t have those fabulous favorites I shared with you in my previous post in the proper purple color, I tried them on in another color as well as another beautiful pair that DID. While neither of them would realistically become a wedding day shoe option (despite Dogwood Bud’s tempting alternatives offered in the comments section), they were fun to try on! I’m not a typical boutique shopper, so it was fun to “pretend” for the day. Check out the kicks pics below!

Cell-Pic: Check out them heals!
