Registry Gifts for Christmas?

We had an engagement party in July, and even though our wedding is not until next June, everyone told us we should register before then, in case people wanted to buy us gifts, they would get them off the registry. So we registered at Bed Bath and Beyond in June, and posted that info on our wedding website right away. We received a few gifts at the party, but none from the registry.

So, that little theory proved wrong, but people also told us that people will use our registry for Christmas gifts. Has anyone found this to be true? I guess we still have a few weeks to find out, but I regularly check our registry, and so far only one set of sheets has been purchased, and those were bought several months ago by a mystery person. If people are buying for Christmas, I should start seeing more items purchased. Maybe I’m jumping the gun since I did most of my holiday shopping already this last weekend on Black Friday. I’m actually ahead of the game this year! But I’ll let you know how it goes. If it is true, other engaged couples should register quick before the holiday season is over!
