When I first saw the movie “Meet the Parents” I was amazed that anyone would trust a cat as a ring bearer. I was worried enough about trusting a 4 year old boy with the wedding rings when my brother got married, no less an animal! Lilac Dude and I have no pets together so we never considered making them a part of our wedding.

As surprising as that is to me, many couples can’t imagine their special day passing by without their pets involved.

Bridal Portraits With Your Pets?

I’d like to introduce you to one of the most important people in my life:

Iris Bud and Lucy

This is Lucy, our 1 1/2 year old beagle/yellow lab mix. (Now, I know some of you might be confused that I referred to her as “people” when she is clearly a dog. However, if you have a dog, you probably understand.) This picture was taken the night of our engagement, showing off the adorable puppy and the new bling.

Here is my conundrum. At some point, I do want “bridal portraits” taken. However, I really want Lucy in these pictures at some point. I would love to have some pictures with her while I’m in my wedding dress – I just think that would be adorable! So, I’m trying to figure out the best way to make this work. Here are some of the ideas I’m considering:
