My bridal shower was this past weekend and it was wonderful. There were so many little details that made it great. My colors of pink and lime green were also tied into the event. My mother and sister hosted my shower at a local Mexican restaurant. We had lots of chips and salsa and guests had their choice of 5 different Mexican dishes such as chicken taco salads with jalapeno dressing or cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. Dessert was assorted Cheesecake Factory cheesecake.
It started with these beautiful invitations from Wedding Paper Divas.

We’re still set on having a nautical theme for the wedding, but I’m looking for brighter colors to complement our navy and white color motif. So first up… orange.

Today I got pretty stuck on one little thing that I thought would be simple: Response cards. I have been browsing around the web gaining inspiration, and found this helpful article in About.com, a great forum on Wedding Wire Answers, and some alternative solutions in Hydrangea Bud’s recent post on the topic.
I know that I prefer paper responses over web-based (my shameless love of paper), and I also know I’m leaving out the ‘M’ before where the guests’ name goes, because I never really “connected” with that M…you know? For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, traditional response cards usually have a line that reads M____________, so the guest may write in Mr James Smith, etc. I don’t use this formality with my friends and family, so I’m leaving it out.

with Teardrop Weddings. I also love Pansy Dude, but I really love this stationer.
I just ordered my invitations from Wedding Paper Divas. They are wonderful and they suit my wedding just perfectly. Not to mention the people at Wedding Paper Divas are the most helpful, nicest, most accommodating people I have ever worked with.
BUT, If I had it do to all over again (and if I had a whole lot more money to drop on my invitations) I would have, without a doubt in my mind, gone to Teardrop Weddings.
ADORABLE. Absolutely perfect.

They look just like the couple! *Deep sigh*
So- here is what I’m thinking of doing. I’m a little artsey. I plan on making my shower invitations. Not because my MOH is slacking, but because I take a lot of enjoyment in being artistic and crafty, and it will save her some time. I’m going to model my shower invitations after these stunning little invitations. I’ll be sure to document my DIY process for everyone!
