Rose Budette and I have decided to skip the band and DJ. We are trying to save money on certain parts of the wedding, without compromising the parts that are very important to us (the ceremony, the reception atmosphere, the food, and the pictures). If people feel like dancing, they’ll dance. If not, we’ll have some nice background music. It is saving us some money, but not skimping on the atmosphere. We’re also having our reception in the early afternoon, so people may not fee like dancing (yet). We’re having an after-party at Hartigans here in Charlotte, NC, so we’ll get to go out on the town the night of our wedding. Spin it!
We have gone “Overboard” and have booked an a cappella group to perform during our cocktail hour.

Plus, I’m the type of girl wanting the actual music, the way the musician intended for it to sound, instead of someone else’s interpretation of it. Maybe I’m in the minority.
We’re going with the awesome Jukebox Bandstand, by recommendation of the venue’s catering manager. She said they are used for any of their own corporate functions, and they’ve never had a problem. Enough said. Sign me up.

Together we have a huge album collection, and solid packed iPods that we are adding and taking music off of weekly. So music is something that we are not taking lightly, especially during the dinner. Over the past few months we have been going over our iTunes and grabbing songs we think would be perfect for the entrance and dinner. As for the dance music…we are going to trust our Dj and friend Brandon to do the mixing. This is what we have…
