Our Friend’s Wedding, part 1

June 29th, 2010 by

Last night Towie Bear and I went to our friends wedding. It was a country wedding! I was looking forward to this because I’ve never been to a country wedding. My reference of this type of event has been through movies or magazines. It was a great event!

The couple picked the Pickering Barn from Issaquah, WA. They selected a fantastic site to get married. This facility is able to hold 400 people. It has two big rooms inside the barn. One room was for the reception and the second one was for dancing.

Our Wedding Venue

November 9th, 2009 by

One of the first things that you need to check off your list is deciding on your wedding date and the ceremony/reception site. I found our wedding venue through Google searches and the ceremony/reception site that we will enjoy next year will be the great Maplewood Greens.

This site has a golf course, a restaurant and a ballroom. We love this place! The food is great and the atmosphere represents both our personalities. Towie Bear and I knew from the beginning that we wanted a summer wedding. That’s why we decided on Maplewood Greens because our guests will admire one of the greatest things that the Evergreen state has to offer and that is its verdure.

The following are some pictures of our wedding site. Please note that these images were taken last winter, therefore, Maplewood Greens still had their Christmas decorations displayed.

Meet the BridalBuds: Maga Bud

September 29th, 2009 by

Hello BridalBuds and hello to all of the blog readers! I’m Maga Bud and I am so proud to represent my native flower from Puerto Rico (PR). I was born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, but raised in Bayamon, PR. I lived in Puerto Rico, also known as the Island of Enchantment for 19 years. I’ve been living in the Evergreen State since 2006.

I describe myself as a detailed oriented bride. I am so in love with my fiancé, whom I like to call Towie Bear. We are getting married in July 24, 2010. He proposed on Christmas Eve; right before our big family gathering. It was quite a surprise and celebration for everyone. My Towie Bear is handsome, hard-working and a tender gentleman. He’s been very supportive during the whole wedding planning process. He likes to be involved in details that are in tune with his interests.

For example, the other day he expressed his opinion about the vehicle that we should consider for our wedding transportation. This is because of his passion for cars. Therefore, I am truly taking his point of view seriously. This is one of the things I’ve learned since I started organizing our wedding and it’s to listen to my future husband and make sure that his vision is also part of our magical day. Thank you my love!

This blog is a fantastic opportunity for me to share my knowledge as a Latina bride living in Washington State. I look forward to reading my fellow BridalBuds experiences that may help me during this wonderful journey. My overall wedding coordination experience has been positive. There are still many unanswered questions, but I do feel accomplished because I’ve already booked almost 50% of my vendors with 9 more months to go.

I am very much excited for the next phase of our wedding planning. Stay tuned!
