Hi Buds,
I need some quick help. I love this design from Martha Stewart:

I’m planning to use this design as a basis for a few paper projects: Menus, place cards, and other wedding stationary. If you like it too, you can download from Martha’s site.

As a second part of our trip home, we had to choose a wedding cake. I have mentioned previously about my want of wedding cupcakes and the lack of bakers in the Madison area who offer them. When I met with Sweet Street Bakery, I now understand why. Apparently, they should actually be more expensive than a cake, because of the labor intensive frosting process. Sweet Street does offer wedding cupcakes, but at the end of the day, it was the same price per serving, and wedding cakes look better in pictures.
Speaking of pictures, the volume of wedding cakes produced over the years lends itself to a very impressive book of ideas! Every shape, color, décor, size, and design you could think of. I had a hard time deciding! My parents and Dahlia Dude’s mom came along and helped pick out what we hope to be a simple yet stunning cake, resembling something like this:

Rose Budette really loves baby’s breath. I am not a big flower person, so I am going along with whatever she wants on this one. We want to use baby’s breath in our table arrangements for the reception. We have a few ideas, but found this picture on Martha Stewart’s website.

What do you think? It is simple, yet elegant. That’s the underlying theme of our wedding, so we want to stay in line with that when it comes to flowers. We thought we’d save a little money using Babysbreath, but it turns out using babysbreath won’t save us that much on our decorations budget. Especially if you’re using a lot of it! But, it is simple, elegant, and will look very pretty on the tables at our reception. I can’t wait to see what our final arrangement will look like; I’ll post pictures when we get them!
I have my entire wedding set up on Martha‘s site. I use all her organizational tools. I think I have looked at every link on every page. I’m a little Martha obsessed. When I came across this darling, I was off to the paper store.

After registering for all of this wonderful cookware and bakeware, what do you do with it all? Well, Martha Stewart to the rescue! Martha Stewart’s Cooking School: Lessons and Recipes for the Home Cook will definitely be a staple in my house. My husband thinks I should cook something new every night, but a.) I don’t have time, b.) I’m not that creative, and c.) I have no idea what I’m doing in the kitchen. I’m hoping, and so is my husband, that Martha can teach me a thing or two!
Do you have a favorite recipe you can share with this cook-in-training?
