It may sound cliche, but the best memory I have is when Freesia Dude proposed to me. It was absolutely perfect- it was our anniversary, and he took me to a private dinner on a boat at Town Lake in Austin, TX. – just the two of us. Not only was that perfect in itself, but then he asked me to marry him- he had a heart-shaped necklace in his hand with “Will you marry me?” on it, and as I looked up, he was kneeling with the ring.
I know he was really nervous about the ring. But it was wonderful! The ring he gave me was a round solitaire that had been in his family for generations- since 1888! I just love that. What was he nervous about? He knew I liked white gold, but it was yellow gold. I’ve worn that ring for 7 months, and tonight I got the stone reset into a beautiful white gold setting.

I’m soooo excited about where we are getting married!! Not only is it beautiful, but it is free!!! Freesia Dude and I fell in love with it. It’s called Chapel Dulcinea and it is located in Austin, Texas (it’s basically my favorite city because we got engaged there).

So a friend recommended that I look into Jessica Klepac for invitations. Not only are these invitations amazing looking, but they are also very affordable!! Would you believe I’ll only be spending about $40 on my invitations? Granted, I only have a few to send out, I still thought this price was great. Here is a picture from her portfolio:

Is her work not fantastic? You can ask her to design something for you and she will ship them to you wherever you are. I contacted Jessica and she was great to talk to and very nice. I’m going to be using her for our save the dates and our invitations. I will definitely post pictures when those are available!
So lately I’ve been trying to decide on what would be a good, inexpensive way to decorate the tables at my Cuban-themed wedding. I’m kind of at a loss when it comes to what I should do to stick with the “Cuban” part of things, so I decided to just choose things that Freesia Dude and I like.
I was browsing the lovely Amore Bride etsy shop and found these wine centerpieces:

I thought that would be a cute and functional way to decorate, but I’m also scared that it’s not big enough to be a center piece. What do you think? I’ll have to tell you my final decision on centerpieces when it comes to me!!
Hey everyone!
Some of you may be wondering where I have been… and I am sorry for that! Since my last entry, I have had a lot of changes in my life! Freesia Dude and I bought a house and we both got new jobs!! I am now an English Teacher and it is great
I didn’t realize how busy I would be as a teacher, and I am sorry for putting my writing on the back burner. I think I have finally gotten into a groove with my schedule, so please expect more from me

Anyways…. I have some big news-My wedding dress came in!!! The only thing is…. the dress turned into a complete disaster
I went to go try on dresses with Freesia Dude’s mom at a very popular bridal store… I found the perfect (at the time) dress hanging on a mannequin. I tried it on and knew it was the one! I was probably a bit overzealous as I bought it that day…. The woman at the counter told me that the dress on the mannequin was a certain size, and when it came in…. it didn’t fit. It was WAY too big. I tried it on at home multiple times and eventually began to hate the dress because of how large it was. (Advice: Always check the size of a dress yourself before ordering!!)
Many friends have suggested getting it altered, but I have such a horrible picture of the dress now, that I just can’t see myself in it on my wedding day anymore. Now I know there is supposed to be at least one wedding disaster…. let’s hope this is mine. Has anyone else had a dress dilemma? What are some wedding disasters you have experienced?
So, one of the first major dilemas Freesia Dude and I have had since the beginning of planning our wedding has been the bridal party. At first, it began with the question of who would be in our bridal party. Freesia Dude doesn’t have too many close guy friends, and I had felt like I had too many girlfriends to choose from.

Hi!! I’m Fressia Bud (and that handsome guy is Freesia Dude)
I have anxiously been preparing my first post as a Bridal Bud! I am beyond excited to be writing here.
Freesia Dude and I got engaged on April 18th of this year. Since then, I have already experienced the highs (and lows) of planning a wedding. We are going to have a very simple wedding in beautiful Austin, TX. After realizing that the wedding was something that could potentially cost a lot of money, we decided to stick to the basics. Freesia Dude and I are inviting about 60 people and leaving out a lot of traditional wedding “must-haves”.
