Yep… I ordered my wedding invites for $79.91. I designed them using Microsoft PowerPoint 2007. I saved them as PDF files and then uploaded them to Vista Print. I posted some of the items, the resolution here is not as clear as they will be, so please don’t think I’m sending out poorly made invites.
 These are my response cards.

I’ve found another unique idea for centerpieces that is easy DIY, able to be done way in advance and can tie in any color combination you want. It’s the gift that keeps on giving….literally! These centerpieces can be for aesthetics only or could actually hold your wedding favors. Arranged in just the right way, they are a beautiful alternative to pricey flowers… and they last a lot longer!

After the responses I got from my previous post, Do Me a Favor, I’ve been doing more and more research on wedding favors. Today, I came across one I just had to write about – DIY hot cocoa vials that are just the cutest ever!

I have been going back and forth on the idea of doing my own flowers. Or rather, gathering up my ladies on the morning of the wedding (the ceremony isn’t until 6:30pm) and attempting to assemble centerpieces that may or may not resemble something like this:

Pretty! How hard could it be?

I made this for my Christmas table, but there is no reason someone couldn’t make something similar for a wedding. Be it for guest tables, a head table, guestbook table, or otherwise. This could also make a cute little favor or gift.

I found myself hosting our first Christmas dinner this year for Hydrangea Dude’s family. I was a little stressed with planning everything, and woke up one morning with an idea – I should make centerpieces or a table-scape with the Christmas-scented tealights we had. But what to put them in? Then, I remembered all the little pots we had from buying seeds. The idea was born and I ran with it.

As I have mentioned before, working on the ceremony was one of the toughest things for Plumeria Dude and I. Though we both have plenty of writing experience, we we pretty cowed at the prospect of crafting an entire ceremony ourselves. Neither of us are religious, so we didn’t have that traditional framework to start with. We also we wanted the ceremony, readings and vows to reflect us as a couple. Tall order!

We finally finished our table markers last night! Because we really wanted to go with customized table names, but our venue needed us to have table numbers to comply with their system, we looked for ways to combine table names and numbers in a crafty, fun, and cool-looking way. We found a great template from Jody Prouse thanks to Plumeria Blossom’s post! Thanks Plumeria! Actually, Hydrangea Dude found it while browsing the posts here, and suggested it – he’s been so helpful through all this!

My mom has been very busy this past month planning my family Bridal Shower. She’s been so excited with every aspect of the planning that she found it hard to keep it a secret, so I’ve been let in on various details of the shower.
Along the way, a theme began to develop: Spring Garden. My mom absolutely loves to garden and it was really fun to watch her incorporate aspects of this hobby into a really great sounding shower. One of her favorite projects was the favours – a cute garden trowel and seed combo.

Menu cards were a last-minute project for me. At first, my mom volunteered to do them but when she saw my awesome palm tree stamp, she asked me to take on the job.

One of the last-minute projects I recently tackled was putting together welcome letters for our guests. I have seen some fantastic examples of full-color wedding brochures that could pass for professional work, and some that are full of cute wedding clipart. But, true to Plumeria form, I didn’t have enough time or energy to truly do justice to a full-on brochure, especially given my paltry design skills. We are picking up brochures from the local chamber of commerce, so our guests will have Islamorada info at hand.
