The bakery sent us home with three 6″ cakes in white, chocolate and marble with the assurance that we could also sample their other three flavors at another time (when they had notice that we would want samples, they were able to provide us with samples on the spot surprisingly). The other flavors were spice, almond, and yellow, which weren’t on our list.

Since the samples were fairly large and not expected with called Lilac Dude’s parents and said, “hey we have dessert!” That won us a lunch invitation to a possible place to have a rehearsal dinner (which is a whole different blog post for another time).

A friend said, “This will be the best part of wedding planning.” Although I love cake, I’m personally more excited about the photography… but that’s just me. Of course, cake is always yummy. And it’s a big focal point in the wedding–I mean, you and your future spouse take pictures while cutting it and feeding a piece to and it’s also put out so that everyone can see it before you even cut it!! It’s a big deal. So, you have to spend some time deciding what you want and how it’ll look.
Me, I’m pretty simple. I thought that I wanted a smooth cake with the little pearls on them. Although I had a dream cake in mind, it wasn’t going to happen because I knew it was going to be expensive. However, our meeting with the baker went a little differently than planned…

Oh my goodness! How did it get here so fast?
These last few weeks have been a blur of wedding planning activities: Researching and buying wedding invitation supplies, designing our invites (still in progress), making appointments, and tasting, tasting, tasting and more tasting!

That’s right, we had 4 different tasting experiences in 2 weeks! 1 with the caterer for appetizers and meals, and 3 with different bakeries for our cake!
