Gift for your maids. Standard right? Monogramed bag, framed picture, gift certificate, and a variety of other things they will most likely never use. I wanted to do a Portland themed gift – something they would ACTUALLY use. And then it dawned on me – from the homepage of threaddesign.com:

Valentine’s Day is not only a great day to spend with your special sweetie but also to remember the other sweeties in your life. This week, I spent some time properly proposing to my bridesmaid and maid of honor with the DIY inspiration I got from Martha Stewart and all the crafty tools I had on hand. I have already purchased most of my wedding party presents but I’m stuck trying to think of what would be the best present for my honey and would really love some ideas!
Also, I am giving a gift to my dad and mom but I’m not sure if I’m also supposed to give to the groom’s parents or if he does that or if you even do that at all? Any ideas?
These are the gifts I’ve put together so far, it may give some of you ideas

So your friend, sister, family member is engaged. Now what?
Time to start the celebration!
My gift to the couple is always just a gift for the bride-to-be because girls are so much more fun to shop for than boys. One fun gift I like to get is a handpainted martini glass from Lolita. These would also make great bridesmaid or bachelorette party gifts.

If you would like to get a gift for the groom, Lolita also has a collection of manly pilsner glasses.
Another great engagement gift for a bride-to-be is a ring dish. Mud Hutt over at Etsy offers adorable personalized dishes. I just bough one of these for my newly engaged sister-in-law.

What other engagement gift ideas do you have?
