The Sunflowers’ Guest Book

Hi All,

I have gone through many ideas here and here, about how to go about having a guest book for the wedding.  Like Lotus Bud, I decided to go with the Blurb photo guest book.  In the end, we found this route much simpler than the other ideas I was batting around.  We used the 12 x 12 format with image-wrap cover because I love the simple modern look.  This book will be with us for years to come!  Here is a pic of the front and back:

You can see by the background that we took the photos right in our dining room, with the help of a friend who is a fine art photographer!  Inside, there are simple pages with full images, and quite a few blank pages for guests to write in.  I was very excited when I learned I could even use my carefully chosen ‘wedding font’ for the text in the book.

Guest Book

Something else we’ve been working on this month is the guest book.  We knew we wanted a photo book because we wanted it to be something that we would actually look at again.  However, I’m a little shy and I really did not want a book with just photographs of us.  I knew that would make me self-conscious.  So we decided to do a photo book which was a mixture of our engagement photographs and photos of our family and friends.

We used blurb.com to make the book.  You have to download their software before you can begin working on the book.  The software was pretty easy to use, but it did take me some time playing around with it to figure out how to change lay-outs, font, etc.  But I figured the program out, it was relatively simple to upload the photographs and create custom lay-outs mixing text and photos.
