Finally I can reveal the dress I decided on! My final stop was at an Atlanta boutique, Kelly’s Closet. Even before I got engaged– when I was furtively buying copies of wedding magazines out of Plumeria Dude’s sight– it seemed that almost every line I loved was carried there. I didn’t plan on making an appointment though, because I knew most everything was out of my price range. If I were a recently-engaged Bud, I would jump on this contest! Yep, you read it right: a group of vendors affiliated with The Not Wedding are offering a free Atlanta wedding to one lucky couple. Vendors include photographers Our Labor of Love, stylist Joy Thigpen, letterpress from DolciOdille, dress by Once Wed, menswear by Sid Mashburn and catering by Sun In My Belly, among others. And the wedding will get a write-up in Weddings Unveiled magazine! The couple need not be from Atlanta, but the wedding will be. To enter, fill out this survey. Of course, there is a catch:
If you are chosen as the winner of TheWedding give-away, you and your fiancé must commit to getting married on May 31, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. You must be willing to limit your guest list to fifty attendees, and subject all wedding plans including but not limited to styling, photography, and location to The Wedding vendors and professionals. You must also be willing to have your wedding photos used for editorial and advertising purposes.
But if you’re willing to roll with it, it sounds like a great opportunity!

Though I’m still finalizing my DIY projects, I have been frequenting some of the Atlanta-area DIY meccas and wanted to share.

I was super psyched when Atlanta got its first Paper Source. This store is jam-packed with beautiful papers, craft supplies and stationery. The store is known for its high-quality papers, craft supplies, DIY classes and fun gift items. Just walking around helps give me ideas on how to visualize the details for the big day. The store also has its own letterpress stationery service. Here is a listing of some of their upcoming classes that may be helpful to Atlanta brides (as well as others with Paper Source locations):
