After the ‘honeymoon phase’ was over, Poppy Dude and I settled into married life: he went to work, I went to law school, he ate dinner while watching tv, I ate dinner while studying. Romantic bliss, huh? With two and a half years of school remaining, I could no longer take living a separate life from my husband.

In stead of complaining or wallowing in self-pity, I took action. Inspired by an episode of John and Kate Plus Eight where the Gosselins made a family mission statement, I decided we needed to make an effort to act more like a team.
