Wedding Dress Giveaway!

Yep, that’s right! I am GIVING AWAY my original unworn and unaltered wedding dress to one lucky bride!  As in, it is FREE to you!   Now that I am a newlywed, it is time to clear out some of my wedding stuff.  My loss is your gain!

The Details:

Sizing – I do not know the exact size of the dress. I do know that it fit me like a glove and I am a street size 2 so my best guess for measurements is the following:

*Bust: 34

*Waist: 25

*Hips: 36

Contest Prize – Up for grabs is this beautiful wedding gown by Davinci that was purchased for $250 at Filene’s Basement Running of the Brides!  It is unworn, unaltered, and in perfect condition.  This dress has since been discontinued but retail price was around $700.

Deadline – Friday, November 4, 2011 at midnight!  I will ship it free of charge to any location in the U.S. on Saturday, November 5th!

Mr. Orange Put a Ring on It!

So, yes, we’ve been together 5 years and the ring, to us, is a formality.

But sweet baby jesus… I got my bling, and I can’t stop looking at it, swooning over it and obsessing about it.  I feel so materialistic, it’s not even the slightest bit funny.

Anyway, he made me go on an Easter egg hunt through our new house and the last (and biggest) egg had my ring in it! :) Awwww shucks. If you want to read the whole entire story,  you can go here.  But, in the meantime, here’s a ring pic (sorry that I’m being one of those girls):

The Cure For Dress Envy

I was a sufferer of severe dress envy! Not sure if other bridal buds/brides-to-be have suffered from the same condition but let me tell you that it is not fun!

I bought my dress at Filene’s Basement Running of the Brides event in July, three weeks after I got engaged. It was the perfect dress for my original idea of a New Year’s Eve wedding. I spotted it from across the room and when I tried it on, I knew I could not leave without it. The dress fit like a glove. Seriously, it was like it was made for me. I felt beautiful, just like a princess. For the sale price of $250, I left with it in my hands without a second thought.

Soon after the dress envy set in.  Anytime I saw dresses on wedding blogs or watched television shows like “Say Yes to the Dress,” I felt sad that I never got the real “dress trying on experience” in a bridal salon.   When I felt sad, I would run upstairs to throw it on and feel beautiful again.  Unfortunately, it was only a temporary fix.
