Hello! I’m Hydrangea Bud, the newest bud in the garden! I’m delighted to join this DIY bridal community and can’t wait to share my planning tips and experiences with all of you.
I am newly engaged as of June 12, 2013. If you ask my friends and family, they would probably predict that my entire wedding was already planned out. I have always been a fan of planning events and parties, with a particular fondness for weddings. So naturally, I’ve been making mental notes in my head about my own wedding for years!
I will admit that much of my wedding is already drawn out in my head. But, as many of you probably already know, making that vision come to life is all the fun! So far, I can say that my engagement ring fit my vision exactly, as do the dress and shoes I’ve purchased for my bridal look. Beyond those details, I have little nothing concretely planned for our Massillon, Ohio wedding which we have planned for November 2014. I do know that I will be DIY-ing a lot! Look for my journey through self-crafted centerpieces, menus, invitations, and much, much more to come!

Hello to my now fellow Buds, Blossoms and anyone else out there reading this! Sunflower Bud checking in for the first time. Let me start off by saying how excited I am to be able to share this wonderful journey with all of you. I want to give you all a little information about myself, let you know how things are going whilst we plan our perfect day.
I’ll start off by saying that I am a lot like most girls out there and have been dreaming of my wedding day since I was a little girl. Don’t get me wrong, just about every aspect of that wedding has probably changed a million times, and I now get to start from scratch with the man of my dreams! Speaking of, we met very briefly in high school and had ALL of the same friends but we never knew each other personally. How weird is that? After I graduated, I walked into college on my first day and saw this familiar face smile at me from the stairway. Immediately reassured that I recognized him, I ran up to him, reintroduced myself and we became fast friends. Which led to being boyfriend/girlfriend, which inevitably led to us getting engaged at Disney World last year!
A little bit more about me, I just recently graduated with my associates in Business Administration, I’m dreaming of becoming an event planner or maybe furthering myself into marketing, maybe both! Currently I am working with GLSS (Greater Lynn Senior Services) which is a transportation system for the elderly and disabled. Aside from Googling and “pinning” tons of wedding crafts and handy ideas, I enjoy reading (comics, mostly), writing, video games, yoga, spending time with FH and my two little pups!
Lastly, from here on out I look forward to sharing any information that I see helpful, from my attempts at DIY crafts, arranging and re-arranging my seating chart, finally making decisions on each detail I haven’t touched or have overlooked and any way to avoid possible drama and annoying situations that come right along with planning a wedding.
Excited to read up about all of you!
I am so excited to become a part of the Bridal Bud community and happy to meet all of you! I am thrilled to share with you all of my experiences as a bride-to-be and to shed some light on some of the wedding ideas from my area. My name is Teri and I am 26 years old and live in the great state of Oregon. I currently work as an Administrative Assistant so on a daily basis I manage daily activities and scheduling of hospital administrators. I love my job and can honestly say that it has helped me thus far in the planning of my upcoming wedding which is scheduled for August 10th, 2013.
My fiance and partner in crime is Bryon, who is my rock and reminds me every single day not the stress the small stuff and to live life to the fullest. Bryon and I met two years ago. WHEW! The time does fly doesn’t it? I still remember the butterflies in my stomach when we first met and the instant connection we had and continue to have to this day. Bryon and I have been through some hard times which has only brought us closer together. Bryon has two wonderful children, Cassidy, who is 6 years old, and Spencer who just turned 10. I am so happy to become a member of this wonderful family.
Bryon and I became engaged three months ago and we both have some of the same ideas for our wedding which will be an outdoor wedding with all of our friends and family present. I am looking forward to sharing my tales of wedding planning with all of the Bridal Bud family and hope to help out other brides-to-be.
I started the wedding planning process in 1990, when I envisioned marrying Jordan Knight in a crushed velvet floor length dress with a thick white headband to accent my bowl cut. We would serve Chick-Fil-A under a crystal chandelier the size of my parents’ station wagon.

Along with the times, my vision has changed a few
hundred thousand times.
My fiancee Andrew (AP) and I have a history that spans Pokemon and Capri Pants to Present Day.
Time has played a huge role in our relationship. And it’s led me to want to create a wedding that’s trendless, themeless and timeless.
A wedding that’s a visual reflection of our timeline, would look like a Pog collection exploded.
With one year to go, I’m working on developing our sans theme wedding style with inspiration from interior design, fashion, nature and other real weddings. I’m looking forward to sharing my process and ideas…and getting plenty of feedback, starting with: Who was your favorite New Kid?
I figure the best place to start my wedding-planning journey here on Bridal Buds is with the very beginning of every bride-to-be’s journey: the proposal!
On the Friday before Christmas 2011, Mr. Snapdragon and I were getting ready to head back to his hometown to spend Christmas with his family. We woke up early to get the car packed, and also to exchange our presents before hitting the road. Now, Mr. Snapdragon had my gifts wrapped and under the tree for a week, and for the life of me I could not figure out what was in these four odd-sized boxes. We traded turns opening presents, and he brought mine over to me, one by one. Two cute prints to put up somewhere in the house and an avocado cuber I’d added on Pinterest. I truly liked these things, and when he brought over the last present, I was curious to see what was in it.
Now, to help you understand the background on my last present: Earlier that season we had gone out and bought these two cute S’mores ornaments to help decorate our Christmas tree. Mine had popcorn on it and Mr. Snapdragon’s was a baseball player.
We loved our new, sweet little ornaments!
“A day without laughter is a day wasted.” – Charlie Chaplin
Laughing is like breathing to me. When I think of the fact that I’m engaged to a man who I am constantly laughing along with (and note: not laughing at), I feel as if all is right in the world. My name is Chrissy; my fiance’s name is Rick. I am 32; he is 38. Together, we make some pretty hilarious jokes – at least in our minds, we do. Since we can only gauge our humor by how much we think we’re funny, we tend to have a lot of inside jokes. Which might make us seem goofier than we are.
Our little “family” includes our gorgeous, six-year-old, retired racing greyhound named Rocco Guacamole. He is the light of our lives. Speaking of laughter, not a day goes by where he doesn’t do something zany to make the both of us crack up.
Rocco is a special dog. He sometimes thinks he’s human. He sometimes thinks he weighs only five pounds (when, in fact, he weighs 80 pounds). And he sometimes thinks he is Rick’s only best friend and I am just the waitress who serves up his kibble. Truly. Sometimes, it feels as if I am the third wheel. Oh well. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Witnessing their bond is magical.
On our wedding day, Rick and I both feel strongly that Rocco should be included. At the very least, he’ll walk down the aisle at the ceremony, outfitted in the smartest looking bowtie we can find. Rocco being there won’t just make us happy; he will surely make our guests laugh, too. We are looking forward to that and tying the knot, in general. When you find the right person, it should feel this effortless — and fun!
I’m a Bud! I’m a Bud! I’m a Bud!
Allow me to introduce us! I am your faithful correspondent, Orchid Bud! Seen below is me with my wonderful fiance and best friend. Due to his love of all things comic books (which should be fairly obvious the more you get to know us), he will henceforth be known as Joker or “Mistah J” or “Puddin’”. (If you get that, congratulations. You’re awesome.)
Side note: Please forgive this picture. We haven’t taken our engagement pictures yet, but a friend of ours (WHO IS A CAMERA GENIUS!) took this picture less than a month ago so it’s the most recent. I don’t like the way I look in this one. Other than that, it’s really good.

I am more than excited to be a part of the Bridal Bud community and share with you all my wedding planning experiences.
My wedding date is (finally) set for March 1st, 2013 and I have opted for a destination wedding in the pretty place I like to call home – Cape Town, South Africa.
My fiance Cody, from hereon known as Gerber Babe and I met when he was in the Marines (yes, man in uniform), we like to act as proof that the long distance thing really can work if you put your heads, hearts and wallets into it.
Stay tuned for more updates on just exactly what goes into planning a destination wedding on the sunny shores of the Mother City.
Hey gang! I’m Snapdragon Bud, a Milwaukee bride-to-be who couldn’t be more excited to share my journey in planning our super personal, detail-filled and most fabulous day with you all.
A little about Mr. Snapdragon and I: First thing’s first – can you believe I’m marrying the boy next door? I moved into my apartment right next door to his in July of 2008. Just a few weeks after moving next door, we hit it off over a love of music and dorky humor and have been laughing and rocking together ever since!
We bought our first home together last May and have been adding our own DIY, personal touches to it since. We’ve both got an eye for design and love piecing together our sweet little home. Also taking up residence in our house is a fluffy little feline named Mr. Pancakes. P-Cakes (for short) is just slightly spoiled, and loves passing time by playing fetch with us (seriously… you’ve gotta see this guy in action!).
We were engaged the morning of December 23rd, 2011 (check out my profile for a detailed account of the proposal!). With over a year before our wedding, you’ll all get to see every. little. detail. of our wedding experience – the crafty, the pretty and the downright dirty. I’m so excited to be a part of such a wonderful place to share ideas and experiences leading up to the day of our dreams!
