So, like every other bride, I want to look my absolute best on my wedding day. I want to look back on my pictures from my Big Day and sigh. So one of the biggest aspects of my appearance (other than the dress, of course!) is Wedding Day Hair.
I’ve already discussed my issue with the veil, so that won’t carry over into this post, I promise! This is merely focused on the hairstyle itself. So I have to start out by saying that I like my hair better down rather than up. I really do. So my initial idea for my Big Day Hair was this:

Imagine this, but for a Brunette

So as the stress builds, as we get closer to our wedding (seriously, I need to stop caring so much about what people will think of it), I have started to gaze at other wedding images more. Whether that be our photographer’s blog, Facebook or the WeddingWire image galleries, I have become obsessed! The upside to this, is that I find some really cool things to write about from time to time. This little post is in regards to a trend that I have noticed when looking at full wedding albums and friends pictures. The convertible headpiece. Now you may ask what that is…well really I am not even sure if this is the correct term, or how you would really classify these things. I know there are convertible wedding dresses which shorten from ceremony to reception, so I figured this was about the same.

In my opinion, the convertible hairpiece is a veil/headpiece that can easily convert from ceremony to reception with just removal of the veil. Here are some cool options I found. What do you think? Are you planning on something like this? Are you going to wear your veil the whole time? Or will you just buy a separate hair accessory for the reception?

Since I take great pride in my attempts at creativity and I have no desire to spend $250 on the veil that I loved at the bridal shop, I’m planning on making my own. But how long and what type should it be?

The results of my hair accompaniments post show veils as the clear winner for accessorizing a brides ‘do. So I thought I’d write a little post about how lovely veils can be and give you some of my favorite veil eye-candy.

When it comes to wedding hair, there are so many choices out there. (see related: Dogwood Bud’s post and Maga Bud’s post). But I’m not even talking about hair styles. I’m just talking about the accessories one puts in the hair, and I don’t know where to start. I mean, tiaras, headbands, clips, veils, pins, flowers, fascinators, and feathers are only the beginning! Its really overwhelming! I’ve browsed Etsy for far too long finding so many beautiful hairpieces, and all I have to show for it is a folder of too many beautiful options. I though I could take a survey to see what you all are doing and ask for some help.
You can also elaborate your answer in the comment section! Also, how did you narrow it down and pick? Any thoughts for me? I have medium/long thick brown hair and my dress is very simple ivory satin with no embellishments.
I just got my bridesmaid dress for my sister’s wedding and I noticed that this dress isn’t very forgiving to my pierced navel. I have this bizarre looking bump in otherwise smooth satin from the smallest belly button ring I own. Even though the easy “fix” for this is to simply not wear the ring that day not everyone can just remove their body art. And not everyone wants to.

From Tattooed Bride
Although there are tattoo cover kits and piercings can be removed for one day, I went looking for pictures of couples who embraced their body art on their wedding days and here’s what I found:

Lately I feel like I am so far behind… like I am forgetting so many things. I am not sure if it is just because we are only two and a half months away, or if it is because I am really forgetting stuff. One thing that did keep slipping my mind was hair and makeup…yeah I know, how on earth could that be something I forget!? I received quite a few recommendations from vendors down in the Keys, but I think I am going to go with Hair in the Tropics who was recommended by our wedding planner, Charlene Lopez. Now that’s the easy part. I made the phone call and of course was not prepared at all for the loads of questions, all of which I should have expected and been prepared to answer. Do I want to come to the salon, or do I want them to come to me? Well, that depends on the cost. What type of hair do I have? Have I taken into account my hair style and texture when looking at images? Um…not really. What time do you need to be ready? Um… I think around 4:30 ish… WOW I am so unorganized!!

EveryDayFairytale on Etsy
So I ended the call, promising the stylist I would send her pictures of hair and makeup that I thought I wanted. I have been collecting pictures, and although I have done a post about this before, I now know exactly what I am doing as far as hair accessories so I am having to rethink my original hair thoughts. Actually the picture above is the exact flower I will be wearing (but in white) sans veil. Below are my choices for hair…please help me choose!!

I have to say that I just adore my hair and make up artist. Tiara Whitney will be the one that will beautify me on my wedding day. I just can’t get enough of the great work that she does for the brides.
I picked Tiara because she is talented and a joy to have around. I’m very hyper and can easily stress about the little things. However, Tiara will be there to make me look and feel beautiful, as well as share that calming energy that she always has with her.
As I was selecting our wedding vendors, the common denominator that I was aiming for was to be surrounded by people that have a soothing spirit. A wedding can be a wonderful experience, but stressful at the same time. If you have people that can bring joy and calmness in to your day and have those individuals close to you.
Tiara did my hair and make-up for our engagement photo shoot. My friends and family love how the whole look turned out.
