About Me:
I absolutely love discovering vintage weddings, DIY projects, and great bargains! If someone were to describe me in one word, it would be crafty. On the side, I love to knit, sew, and workout/run.
How We Met:
Rose dude and I met through a mutual friend in college. It all started with a car ride trip down to LA and it ended up blossoming to a beautiful relationship.
The Engagement Story:
On a beautiful Friday evening, my friend and I frantically carpooled up to our college town at 6:20 on June 25th. After a long discussion about getting married and ranting about how Rose Dude needs to hurry up and propose, we are finally 20 minutes into the city. Suddenly, my friend asks me if he can use the restroom. I tell him, "Sure," and add that he should use the bathroom at Coffee Bean (my usual stop before heading back to LA) that's off the freeway. He gets off the exit, and it ends up being the wrong exit. We end up taking local streets to get to our destination. After 10 minutes, we finally get to Coffee Bean. I get out of the car, put on my jacket, and head inside the coffee shop. Craving for some Vanilla Ultimate (best drink ever!) I decide to use my gift card that I just found hiding in my purse. I order one. Just as I finish ordering, the cashier hands me a silver wrapped present that's about 1' by 1'. Not only do they hand me a gift, but they are filming me with their small digital camera. At this point, I'm utterly confused about what is going on. As the cashiers keep urging me to take the box, I finally decide to take it thinking, "Cool! I guess I'm some # customer and I get free Coffee Bean!" At this point I've convinced myself that I'm going to get free Coffee Bean supplies and I am ecstatic. As I open the lid, I find a rose, a sea foam green dress, silver sandals, a white shawl, and an envelope attached to the rose. While I am trying to figure out what is going on, my heart begins to beat faster and my hands are shaking. The cashiers tell me to open the envelope, so I did just that. The note in the envelope said, "Change if you want your next clue." Still in much disarray, I decide to comply with the note. I head to the newly cleaned bathroom and hurriedly change into the new clothes. After coming out of the bathroom, I get the next clue. I open the new envelope which said, "Plan B," and read the directions to my next destination. The cashiers give me another envelope that says, "Clue 2" and it says, "Give the Plan B envelope to your driver." Woops! After reading the Plan B directions, I automatically knew what was happening. The directions were to the beach where Rose Dude asked me out officially. We frantically head towards the car, grab my drink, and get my wallet (which I almost forgot, but luckily the cashier stopped me). As my driver and I rush back into his car, he grabs his keys and tries to start the car. As he starts the car, there is no sound of the engine starting...He does this about 5x, but nothing happens. Uh oh....he quickly thinks of another plan and ends up calling, another two friends nearby to pick me up. As we wait for their arrival, I had to reaffirm my driver that this will just add to the story and it'll be funny later on. After 10 minutes, they arrive and I quickly get into their car. As we are driving down the road to my destination, I am filled with joy and I cannot get a smile off my face. After a 10 minute drive through the windy street to the beach, I see Rose Dude waiting for me at the top of the stairs that leads to the beach. He leads me down the stairs and I see a row of candle lights lighting a pathway to 4 tiki torches with over a dozen roses on a white mat. He takes me to the "landing pad" and Rose Dude asks me, "SO....what do you like about me." I tell him, "Well....you're really goofy, I can be myself around you, you're very committed..." As I'm going he interrupts and says, "Well you know hunny, you've made me more of a patient man, you're compassionate, you're very sweet, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." (not word for word, but something like that). After his little talk, he gets out a brown box and shows me the ring. He asks me, "What should I do? Should I sit?" I abruptly tell him, "Get on your knees!" He gets on his knees and asks me twice, "Will you marry me?" I nod my head yes and he slides the 5 diamond Scott Kay ring around my itty bitty 4.5 size ring finger on me. It was a perfect fit to a perfect night. ;)
