About Me:
I've been engaged since March 08 and getting married this October, and loving being a bride-to-be and planning our wedding. I love reading all the wedding magazines and have really got involved with the DIY trend. I'm currently making our invitations, favours, and anything else that I can DIY. I am inspired by colour and flowers, both having an important role in a wedding. At the moment by head is bursting with ideas for our wedding (I may need more than one for all my ideas) and I'm looking forward to sharing these with other brides.
How We Met:
We met at university and shared a house for two years before we realized that we were made for each other. My friend and I needed to live with 2 strange guys as there was no university accommodation left and she happened to know 2 guys who were in the same situation as us. It took about a year and half for Paradise Dude and myself to get to know each other better and eventually became best friends and then it all went from there.
The Engagement Story:
We’d made a day of our one-year anniversary; going to the Cocoa Tree in Pitenweem for lunch - and a cracking hot chocolate. And then for a Fish Supper at Pitenweem in the evening. We ate that at Anstruther, and then drove back to St. Andrews - the long way via Crail and stopped for a walk (and to play on the swings!) at East Sands. After swinging for a wee while on the swings, we walked across to the harbour - it was that dark we couldn't see the path especially with the glow of the street lights just beyond. With it being so dark we decided against walking the pier, and made our way up the ‘cyclists dismount’ steep hill. We walked beside the Cathedral and sat by our favourite benches overlooking the sea with the Cathedral and Castle on either side - at this stage I had no idea what was going on and was ready to go back to the house (it wasn’t too warm). After sitting down for a while and Paradise Dude asking me about where I thought we would be in 5 years, 10 years etc.... (I must have been very slow that night) I think he was getting himself ready to ask me, telling me that he loves me and then with the final ‘Gem’ he asks me to marry him, I quickly said yes without fully taking it in, being in a state of shock and with tears in my eyes. He made me reply again and asked me to reach into his pocket, where I first found his wallet (quite symbolic for getting married - me taking all his money!) and then I found a box with the most beautiful and ‘Paradise Bud-like’ ring (even with approval from my sister later on) and it fit perfectly! We used the backlight on his iphone to look at the ring properly and a smile never left my face!
