About Me:

I'm a 27-year-old, Long Island native, living way too far away from the beach in Raleigh, North Carolina. By day I am the office manager (glorified receptionist) for a home improvement company and by night - and on my lunch breaks - a freelance reporter. I love hot soup, the smell of a roaring fireplace and cats. I'm one of those people that says what everyone else is thinking, which often makes people laugh. My fiance and I are equally laid back and our wedding is shaping up to be equally so. The budget for our entire wedding would be what most Long Island brides spend on their linens, so we've been making a lot of sacrifices and are becoming quite creative.

How We Met:

I had barely finished my profile on Yahoo! Personals when Chuck popped up under my "Who's Viewed You" tab. Despite having checked out my profile, he didn't message me (he claims he saw it right before he went to sleep and intended to write me in the morning) so I decided to take the first step myself and commented on a funny photo he had up. Before I knew it, we were making plans to head to a New York Islanders game together that was just a few days away. On our date, we realized that we had a mutual friend and that we were both suppose to help this mutual friend with a school project a few months earlier. The project fell through and we didn't meet until Yahoo! brought us together.

The Engagement Story:

Chuck and I knew that we wouldn't be able to take the next step in our relationship unless we moved off Long Island. I applied for the job that I hold now and within a week I was resigning from my old job and getting ready for a big move. We decided to hit our favorite cafe one last time. We had a huge meal of our favorite dishes and even saved room for dessert. The cafe was almost empty and we had paid our bill. I asked Chuck if he was ready to go and he replied, "Yes, but first, I wanted to know if you'll marry me," and pulled out the ring from under the table. We were the first couple to ever get engaged at the cafe.
