About Me:

I'm an English teacher who married an English teacher (and my best friend) in October 2008. I'm enjoying newlywed life. Perhaps, we're still in the honeymoon phase of marriage, but I truly believe I'm experiencing wedded bliss. I enjoyed planning my wedding and making it a reflection of myself and Honeysuckle Dude. Other than weddings, I enjoy photography, writing, experimenting with recipes, reading books with happy endings, reading books with unhappy endings, and visiting fairs for the food.

How We Met:

We met in high school English class. We fell in love in a Kmart parking lot. We bonded over coffee, parallel parking, Outkast, first jobs and first roommates, heartache, and great books.

The Engagement Story:

He asked to marry me in front of his Karate dojo's annual picnic when they say kind words about other people present. He went on about how all of the teachers there had shaped him into the man he was now, but he wanted to commit to seeing the man he would become with me as his wife. And for good measure, threw in the line "I love you- most ardently" from Pride & Prejudice (my favorite of books). I shocked myself by not crying.
