About Me:
I am a hairstylist at the cutest salon in Houston, Texas. In the midst of trying to build a cliental in a new city, I met my (now) husband and turned some of my focus to planning our "perfect wedding" and decorating our "dream home". I love baking, collecting vintage pieces for my kitchen, crocheting, films, computers, and video games. Most of my time is spent working, prepping dinners and baking on my day off and playing with our miniature dachshund puppies Phoebe and Penny. In my happy place I am traveling abroad, doing a word puzzle, or nesting at home with the dude watching movies on the couch. Im just your average California girl browsing an Anthropolgie catalog trying to survive the Texas heat.
How We Met:
After a variety of unsuccessful dating experiences, Dandelion Dude and I each decided to give online dating a try. We had friends that found success with online dating, and they gave us nothing but encouragement. Shortly after the new year, we both got on Match.com. We met on Match, started talking on iChat, and became friends on Facebook. After about two weeks of talking, Dandelion Dude asked me on our first date. He had floor seats for the Houston Rockets game, directly behind the Rockets bench. He knew that I was a basketball fan, so he invited me. I couldn’t say no to those seats... it was perfect!
The Engagement Story:
After only 8 months of dating and being attached at the hip every weekend, Dandelion Dude proposed! It happened one Saturday evening after I got off of work. My last appointment \"canceled\", so I got off work early. I came home to see candles lit on my stairway, and when I opened the door, there he was, all dressed up sitting with Phoebe (our puppy) on his lap. The crying began. He handed me the DVD remote control and said, \"press play\". I watched this beautiful montage of movie/tv clips that Dandelion Dude put together with one of our favorite songs in the background. At the end, he did a slide show of pictures of us from that week, all the way up to our first date. I said \"yes, yes, yes\" (had to make sure he could understand me through my tears) and waited patiently for him to put my new ring on my finger. After I calmed down, he told me that we had dinner reservations at The Grove in downtown Houston with some friends joining us. I knew if I couldn’t have my family around after the proposal, I wanted the 7 that came to join us that night. It was a perfect evening.
