About Me:

I'm a Saffa (South African) Chick living in the States. I've spent much of my life in South Bend, IN, but I feel most comfortable at a family brie in Cape Town. I'm a HUGE animal lover, and currently share my bed with a Cairn Terrier pup and a small grey cat. I love television, and ours is on almost all the time, no matter what I'm doing. I live by my spreadsheets and lists, and I'm so excited to be planning my wedding to my best friend!!

How We Met:

Dahlia Dude and I met on one of the most emotionally draining nights of my life. Having come home to attend the funeral of a close friend, I wasn't exactly in the mood to go out that night. However, I was convinced to go to a bonfire with some friends, and it was there that I met my Dahlia Dude. Our friendship and subsequent relationship took off very quickly from that one night.

The Engagement Story:

Dahlia Dude and I had started a schedule of evening walks on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Even though it was a cold night, we set off for the Grotto to light candles for our lost loved ones. After saying a short prayer, Dahlia Dude told me that he'd never seen the front of the Golden Dome, one of the oldest and most beautiful buildings on campus. So I took him around the front and we stood looking up at the statue of Mary perched on the very top. I turned around to say something, but he was already down on one knee with a beautiful ring sitting in a blue satin box. I've been smiling ever since.
