About Me:

After spending my 20s building a career in the travel industry (and traveling my booty off!) I've return to college full time to study Spanish Language and Latin American Culture. I'm also a volunteer Engish as a Second Language teacher for an organization that provides support to refugees and asylees in the US. Besides loving to travel (I'll go anywhere!), I also love crafting, camping, and reading. A perfect day for me would be wandering along an ocean beach in search of the perfect beach stone or exploring one of America's amazing National Parks.

How We Met:

After a 3 week road trip cross country I settled into Northern California to return to school. I posted a platonic ad on craigslist looking for some friends to hang out with in the region. CC replied and I headed over to his place to watch a movie (I brought The Visitor with me). We first met in his driveway, chatted for a minute and I saw a shooting star over his head. Fate? Perhaps, as it only took me a few weeks to realize he was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

The Engagement Story:

I moved into CC's apartment, after his roommate moved out to live with his girlfriend. CC was so excited that I moved in with him he wanted to propose the same day. As I was cleaning the bathroom, windex and paper towels in hand, he couldn't contain himself any longer and rushed in with my grandmother's solitaire in hand. He quickly asked me, cleaning supplies still in my hands, if he could take my hand in marriage. How could I say no to such a genuine request? I blushed, gently placed my supplies on the toilet seat, and gladly accepted his request. Romantic? Not so much, but I wouldn't change it for the world!
