About Me:

I have been a bridesmaid twice and a MOH once! I'm a do-it-yourself kind of gal that enjoys planning things, so I am definitely being a very hands-on bride. Right now, I am going to graduate school to earn my Master's in Higher Education Leadership while working full-time, so I know how important it is to balance things. In my free time, I am a TV junkie (thank you Tivo!) and I like watching all kinds of things like Stylista, Law & Order, and NFL Football. I love hanging out with my friends, my two cats, and, of course, my fiance!

How We Met:

We met in college in December 2002 when we both went to a friend of a friend of a friend's potluck birthday party. I made carrot cake from scratch, so when asked if he had had a piece, he said, "Um, I don't like cake." I looked him in the eye and said, "What kind of freak doesn't like cake?" We ended up talking all night and dated for a few months, but parted on good terms. In August 2006, he called me out of the blue. We had lunch together and within two weeks, we were back together.

The Engagement Story:

During our trip to Italy in March 2007 to visit a friend of mine, everything that could have gone wrong went wrong one day (missed trains, closed museums, bad food, etc.). But, through it all, it was the best worst day possible and I knew he was the person I wanted to be with for the rest of my life. In the quiet of our hotel room in Rome, I asked him to marry me... ...and yes, I gave him an "engagement" ring. It is a Chilean tradition (he is part Chilean) for a couple to wear their wedding bands on the right hand until the wedding, so we both wear engagement rings.
