Some of the friends told me in advance that the rehearsal is the part of the wedding weekend that they remembered most and I didn’t believe them at first. Well, looking back on all of the events on the weekend, they were right. It’s time to spend with some of your closest friends and family only. You are relaxed and don’t have any pressure on you. My advice for those brides (and grooms): enjoy the rehearsal! Take the time to thank each one of you bridal party members and parents. Here is a list of what we ended up gifting to our bridal party:
For the gals: a customized bath robe that they wore while getting ready (I bought teal robes at Kohl’s, about $20 each after using a 30% coupon, and then iron-on letters at Hobby Lobby with their initials and viola!) and a Kate Spade idiom bracelet (all different ones). They loved them!
For the guys: Apricot Dude found little customizable soft coolers (admittedly not sure from where) and filled them each with some beer, liquor and a nice note.
For my Mom and Step-Dad: we decided to gift them an overnight at a cute little Bed & Breakfast not too far from home! They can use it whenever they need a getaway!
For my Dad: he needed a new watch so we splurged and got him an incredible Seiko watch and had a sweet note engraved on the inside. He loved it.
For his parents: we had a set of glass mugs, wine glasses, carafe, and cheese plate monogrammed with their initials. It was something they would never buy for themselves and we knew they didn’t have it! A company here in Cincinnati called Sterling Cut Glass does amazing work!!!
For my Grandparents: I was very fortune to have my grandparents help financially with the wedding so we wanted to get them something super fun! They love trains so we found a dinner train here in Cincinnati that runs every Saturday night- how cool is that!?!
For everyone: we found these adorable thank you notes from a shop on Etsy called Marrygrams.
Here are a few pictures from the rehearsal dinner which we had at the Christian Morelein Lager House downtown in Cincinnati on the river. The views of the Cincinnati Reds Stadium and the river were incredible. It was Fireworks Friday after the Reds game so we got a free show!
