Save the Dates – Backup Plan

January 17th, 2011 by

When planning a wedding, it is important to set small goals and timelines.  These is especially important when it comes to save the dates and invitations.   I told Poinsettia Dude that if we didn’t have our stop motion Save the Dates finished & ready to send out by the end of January, we need to move on to an alternate plan.  I didn’t really have an alternate Save the Date in mind until I found these beauties!  If we don’t meet our end of January deadline, I will be upset but now I have a “glass is half full” outlook – If the stop motion doesn’t happen, it means that I can make this Option #2!  Always good to have a backup plan, right?

I can get 50 of these skeleton keys on Ebay for about $20 bucks! Not bad, not bad at all.  I may try and scour local flea markets for a few keys before I full commit to this idea.  I want to have a test run, first!  If it works out,  this will be an easy DIY project I am willing to take on. These are SO FUN!

I LOVE these! I, too, had to go a different route with my save the dates as Cymbie Dude informed me that what I wanted would require professional artists and graphics designers (well outside of his photoshop/design capabilities). We went with magnets designed by Cymbie Dude. Wish I had seen these! Don’t be sad if you “have” to go with the skeleton keys.
