Crunch Time!

August 23rd, 2010 by

In the beginning of the wedding planning process, everyone has pipe dreams about certain wedding aspects. As our wedding day presses closer, the list of things that need to be done only grows as we keep crossing things off. For every task completed, two seem to be added to the bottom of the list. In the spirit of streamlining, certain aspects are just going to get nixed. One of those very things is our wedding programs. I had lofty ideas of beautiful programs that served as functional fans for the (potentially hot) day. They probably could be purchased, or made, but there just doesn’t seem to be time or money for either. I had fantasies of something that looked like this:

But with less than 3 weeks to go before the wedding, other items are just more important right now.  We do however have a slightly easier alternative thats pretty cheep and MUCH less involved.

Something like this, where a pretty simple raffia fan is tied with a ribbon and (MAYBE) a single sheet of paper with our names or something on it.

The fans we got from oriental trading company for about $.70 each which is a pretty great price, and with the ribbon it won’t take long to put just a little personalized touch to it. While taking a significantly less amount of time than the creation of the entire program.  I’m satisfied with this solution and think its a pretty cost effective one too. Now hopefully they’ll come in in time!

Well, the fans arrived, now if I can get them finished in a timely manor. I will be adding a bow, a few seashells, and a small card with the couples names and wedding date.
