The Big Bachelorette Weekend

April 7th, 2010 by

This weekend I venture off to the Big Apple, that’s right, my bachelorette party is happening in NYC this weekend! I am so excited to have a great girls weekend, with a bit of “over serving.”  We plan on shopping during the days, doing a relaxed dinner on Friday and the big party on Saturday.  Although I am not privy to the details, I have a few ideas of what the night will entail.  I had quite a few “rules” for the weekend, mostly rules that banned any suggestive materials/items and anything that would draw attention to myself.  This included vetoing sashes, tiarras, me dressed in white while everyone else is in black, etc. I thought it would be fun to do a post strictly on the bachelorette and some fun ideas I found!

The Karaoke Night: Why not go out for a night on the town and make complete fools of yourself! It’s a great way engage a large group and keep everyone entertained… as long as you are ok with these ladies remembering your terrible rendition of “Like a Virgin.”

Spa Day: Do you and your girls need some relaxation? Why not choose a venue where you can be pampered all day! The upside is that it can go a long way to getting your mind off the stressful planning.  The downside, you may not have as much quality time with your friends if you are each off getting massages.

Nature’s Calling: Why not a weekend away camping under the stars.  If you love the outdoors, this could be the perfect choice for you. It’s an awesome choice for secluded girl time full of gossip, bonding….and S’mores!

The Fiesta: Who doesn’t love a good cheese dip and chips? How about hitting up your favorite local Mexican joint for great food, a fun atmosphere and a few margaritas!

Country Hee-haw: Hit up the local country bar for honky tonk music, cheap drinks….and of course some bucking bull ridin’! Don’t forget to dress the part!

Vive le France: Think Paris in the spring… cafe au let, crepes, petit fours all in the comfort of your own house.  Don’t forget your favorite beret!

Breakfast at Tiffany’s: Have your girls dress in their favorite black dress, strand of pearls and complete it with a tiara.  Hit up your favorite restaurant and hit up a show at a vintage theatre.

I have a fun one to add to your list. A Bellydance party! the bellydancer comes out in full costume and does a short performance for everyone then everyone gets to dress up in coin belts and veils and learns a few moves. It’s a blast. You could even do Middle eastern style food like uummus tabouleh, Baba Ganoush, pita bread for dipping etc. And maybe end the night with Turkish coffee and baklava!!
