… a congratulatory note from President and Mrs. Obama!
You may remember from one of my prior posts, that we invited the Honorable and Mrs. Obama to our wedding. Kind of a silly thing to do, yes, but we couldn’t help ourselves. Well, it seems our specialty stamps were not used in vain! This may be hard for you to believe, but it’s not every day we get mail from the President, so you can imagine our surprise and excitement when Periwinkle Dude held up an envelope from our stack of junk mail and asked why the White House was listed as the return address. After a run-of-the-mill weekend Presidential mail was the last thing I was expecting, and I’m pretty sure I actually squealed with delight.
One more goody item for our scrapbook! :)
Have any of you invited the President or a celebrity-type to your wedding for kicks? If so, did you receive a response? I wasn’t sure we would, but am sure happy we did!
NOTE: This post is severely delayed; as we received the note back in October but silly me apparently forgot to share the news until now! We sent the invitation in April, so although I’m sure response time varies, ours was approximately 6 months.

We did that too! I’ve read that it’s a pretty standard thing, the card that they send out. They say that they do it for everyone who sends them one.
However, I read a news article saying that the White House has been SWAMPED with invitations, ever since President Obama took office!

I plan on sending President an invite! And I we sure will be squealing with delight as well!
