Seattle Wedding Show, Part 3

January 29th, 2010 by

While searching for the right look for our Big Day, I’ve received the same advice from many wedding professionals. Create the look at home or at the venue first and then make a decision if you’ll go forward with the idea. At the Seattle Wedding Show I realized that this was a good advice to use when you look at the following images I took of various settings and decorations.

The first setting you can certainly see that the main color or the color theme revolves around green. I am not a fan of this color; however, I feel that the people that used the color on this table setting did a fantastic job. Please note how the table linen ties everything together. I feel it creates a balance to the whole atmosphere.

wedding wedding planning,

I also took a picture from this perspective and then noticed the candles around each place setting. It made the whole table more intimate and personal. I thought that was a great idea for guest favors. Love it!

wedding wedding planning,

The second table setting that caught my eye was the following image. I really love the idea of the tent above the main table. I imagined the bride and groom along with the maid of honor and best man. I also thought about a table for two; just the bride and groom in a romantic, whimsical atmosphere. This one is actually my favorite so far…

wedding wedding planning,

You can see that green is also highlighted in this setting, but the centerpiece creates that balance where it makes green look elegant and timeless.

wedding wedding planning,

Therefore, when you have a look in your mind, you can practice at home or at your wedding venue. Then, take pictures and make a decision with your groom. You can add or edit any item that you think will make your look unique. Good luck!

I never thought about trying a “trial run” at home, but thats a great idea. The canopy over the sweetheart table is lovely, You could do a scaled down version with one of those mosquito nets. Maybe something like this? http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/bed-canopy-mosquito-net-purple

The first picture caught my eye because I’m getting married at The Yacht Club on Lake Union! I really like the tented table as well. Is that also by the same vendor (i.e. Ravishing Radish)? I’m planning my wedding from across the country so these blogs have been so helpful!

    Carol,
I’m glad this post was so helpful. My suggestion would be to call The Yacht Club. They may be able to tell you who decorated their Seattle Wedding Show booth. I agree with you; it was an extroardinary presentation. Good luck on your wedding planning!
