How Sweet It Is

December 16th, 2009 by

Every bride has a few things that are the most important things about the wedding.  For all of us, the most important thing is (hopefully) the groom!  However, the second most important thing varies depending on who you ask.  For some brides, it’s the dress.  For some, it’s the flowers.  For me, it’s the cake.  As soon as we picked a venue and set the date, I started looking for a baker to do our wedding cake.

Before meeting with possible bakers, it’s important to know what your priorities are in a wedding cake.  I knew that I wanted to find someone who was versatile enough to capture exactly what I wanted in the cake.  I also needed to find someone who was within our price range.  Lastly (and most importantly) I needed to find someone who would make a delicious cake.  I found all three in Dessert First Cakes.

Here’s a sampling of her cakes (some of these are wedding cakes, some are her occasion cakes).

I love the drapes and flower detail on this cake:

And a cute little beach cake, just for fun:

Aren’t they great??  I love her cakes so much.  If you’re getting married anywhere in the Triangle area in North Carolina (or want to celebrate a birthday or a holiday or a … Tuesday), give Rachel a call!  Check out her website for details.
