DIY Flowers for the Whole Wedding

December 18th, 2009 by

It’s hard for me to think of DIY projects while planning my wedding since my friends and family are so far away and that leaves Dogwood Dude and me doing all the work (and let’s face it, I am not going to get much out of DD when it comes to arts and crafts).  But, while searching for centerpiece ideas I ran across this very interesting site, FiftyFlowers and more notably this interesting package for DIY centerpieces, table decor and bouquets.  It comes with 200 Ecuadorian Roses and 6,000 Fresh Rose Petals in the colors of your choice for around $450 not including shipping.  They ship the flowers to you 48 hours in advance which gives you the day before to DIY so you don’t have to think about it the day of! There is a lot you can do with this package especially for a low price like that.  Here are some ideas I had:

1. Line the isle with rose petals….simple enough even Dogwood Dude could help!

2. You can buy simple glass vases at a number of wholesale sites like this one ($2.89 for a 5”x5”) and create a beautiful candle and rose petal table top like this one from Wedding Bee:

3.  Here is a great step by step process for creating a classic rose centerpiece arrangement like this one from JR Roses (also has a DIY tip for creating a boutonnière):

4. Love this DIY bouquet from Elizabeth Ann Designs! Cost was around $30 for supplies (and that included her roses)!

5. This rose petal curtain from Françoise Weeks is beautiful and can spice up any bare wall! *Note: must use silk petals for this*
