Thanks for the input guys!! I think option 3 is the winner.

The photographer who did our engagement pictures is gonna do a shoot with us after the wedding sometime. I think we're gonna go wonder around Raleigh - we should get some interesting looks, walking our dog downtown in a wedding dress and tuxedo :)

I also think that having some pictures after the wedding with your dog is a great idea.

I vote for # 3. It is the safest way to go. Great idea!

I had a dog involvement issue also (http://www.bridalbuds.com/2009/06/flower-girl-or-flower-dog/) and our solution was to take some photos with her...which leads me to your post...

I decided to take some photos with her before we departed for the ceremony. Because of the ceremony location in proximity to our house, bringing her to the wedding wasn't an option.
Everything worked out well - we were able to snap some group family shots with her, and also shots of just her and I alone.

However, depending on your dog's personailty, I think your idea of taking pictures at a later date is a great idea. I found on the morning of, Bella was very shy and really not acting herself because there was SO much going on in the house and so many unfamiliar faces.
If your dog is the same, having a nice quiet and personal shoot may be just the thing!
