Here's a photo taken by a friend, with professional photos to come soon!

Well, we’re married and back from the honeymoon! Things went smoothly for the most part and we had an amazing time at both the wedding and the honeymoon. I couldn’t be happier with all the vendors we hired and I will definitely be sending out some thank you notes to them as well as to guests. I’ll be doing a weekend recap in some upcoming posts but for now, I’ll just post about 2 sort-of glitches with the wedding weekend.

The first is that we forgot to have the priest sign the wedding license! I always said that I would be happy as long as we ended up married at the end of the day. Well, we weren’t technically married at the end of the day but we were still happy :)  And my brother took the license to the priest the week following the wedding, got it signed, and mailed it to the court. So it’s all taken care of and we are officially married. Therefore, not a big glitch but definitely something to think about. We were so wrapped up in the little details of the day that we forgot one of the big things. In hindsight, I probably should have given the license to someone else and asked them to make sure it made it to the ceremony and was signed by the priest before he left.

Second has to do with the music we’d selected for special moments during the reception like the first dance and our parent dances. My father insisted that he wanted to kind of practice our dance on the dance floor before the reception so we slipped in during the cocktail hour. Boy, I’m glad he decided to do this. As we started walking through the number the DJ asked if this was the right song and started playing Rage Against the Machine! That was most definitely not the right song. I realized that I had been listening to the CD of reception songs in the car and placed one of my brother’s CDs in the case instead. Of course I had forgotten to switch them back. My brother went out to the car, got the correct CD, and we had the right music for the reception after all. I like Rage Against the Machine, but that probably would not have been an appropriate time and place. So I realized that it would have been much better to mark the CD as well as the CD case.

But all’s well that end’s well. It was an amazing evening, and we were surrounded by love. It was wonderful to be able to turn around and see almost everyone we love in one room!
