Personal Gifts for the Parents

September 25th, 2009 by

We’ve wrapped up almost all of the small details for the big day. One of the key things that we wanted to make sure to do was show gratitude to those who have supported us not only through the wedding process, but also our entire lives. Therefore, we put a lot of thought into the gifts that we wanted to give to our bridal party and other helpers. I know most of them lurk around here on the blog, therefore, I will post what we got them later to avoid spoiling the surprises.

Since I know our parents are less likely to be reading everything on the internet, I thought I would start by sharing what we made for them. Unlike our other gifts which were a bit easier to pick out, it took us a little bit to figure out what the parents would appreciate. After all, they have most everything they want and we wanted to make it very personal which is something that can’t always be achieved by just buying something. Therefore, we decided to make a gift for each.

We chose to write and frame a personal letter from each of us to our respective parents. Since both sides native language is Chinese, we had our letters translated thanks to the help of my old college roommate. Along with a picture from our engagement shoot and some additional embellishments, we were able to get to the final end results shown above.

We hope it’s something that they can keep and use to decorate their home. It was a fun little project to work on together!
