Not That Kind of STD |
| August 1st, 2009 by Snapdragon Bud |
When I first started getting into wedding planning, my first step was to join a web-forum of brides who were also planning destination weddings. This seemed like a logical place to start, and helped provide an quick education into the world of wedding acronyms.
I learned that a DH is not a designated hitter, that FI is not short for Finland, MOH isn’t a relative of Homer Simpson’s “DOH” and so forth. But for a little while there I was confused, especially when coming across a forum category about: “STDs, Invitations and Websites”. What? I mean sure, I suppose nervous brides might need to talk about these kinds of things… I just didn’t expect…OH! I get it. Save The Dates. I had to laugh at my own stupidity on that one.
So, I think I have finally decided what to do about my STDs. (chuckle chuckle)
Of course, I made this decision after buying $100 worth of DIY materials from Michael’s last weekend. I played with the stamps, ribbons, paper, and fonts but it was all coming out too much kindergarten and not enough Martha Stewart. So, I went back to the drawing board.
Snapdragon Sweetheart and I weren’t even sure if we should do a STD at all, we have just family coming, after all. And it isn’t really part of his wedding culture to even do a STD. But, I decided I wanted a little something to get folks excited about our Florida wedding and found this fun option on Zazzle.com: Vintage Postcards!
In addition to the postcards, you can also customize stamps, so I am in the process of thinking about a cute little stamp with a picture of the wedding hotel or maybe even a shot of Snapdradon dude and me. Fun! Cute! Love it!

Thanks for the feedback! The postcards came in and look great. The front image is a little less crisp that I would prefer, but seriously not a big deal. The back (where I have the STD message pre-printed) came out beautifully. The best part is all I have to do now is slap on some $.28 stamps and some addresses and they are OTD (out the door).
I appreciate your comments!
