Before our ceremony, Hydrangea Husband and I staged a “first sighting” and took pictures with our wedding party.
The first sighting was great! It was so nice to be able to get Hydrangea Dude’s reaction to seeing me for the first time, and it allowed for us to get a second “mini-rehearsal” since we had the first sighting in our ceremony room. Our bridal party was there, so they lined up, as if it were the ceremony, but I walked down the aisle by myself, instead of with my brother, unlike the actual ceremony. We got to give each other a kiss, and then we started taking some of our formal shots.
After a few in the ceremony room, we headed down to the lobby to make our way to Boston’s Public Gardens for some outside photos. This was where I wished we would have planned a little better. We decided not to rent a limo or other transportation, since the Public Gardens were just a few blocks away from the hotel. We didn’t want the expense for a few blocks! So we decided to have friends and family members drive us over. Unfortunately, I think we just assumed some people would be available and ready on time, and underestimated how many cars we would need. So, we waited for almost 45 minutes while people sorted out the drivers, and the valets retrieved the cars. But, we got to take lots of neat photos in the lobby while we waited.
