When Orchid Dude and I took our engagement photos last winter, there was a fresh blanket of snow on the ground and the sun was shining…but it was bitter cold! We lasted about an hour by the time my friend Dee (of Purple Martini Photography) could see that our toes were frozen and we were ready to wrap up. Our goal was to finish the second half of our shoot when the weather warmed up and we could comfortably wear open-toe shoes.
The weather for the second half of our shoot turned out to be gorgeous! It was a warm 24 degrees (celsius), the sun was bright and the sky was blue. For this round of photos we thought we’d check out Guildwood Park – a park and garden located at the Scarborough Bluffs that contains architectural fragments from dozens of demolished buildings from in and around the Toronto area.
I was completely blown away by the amazing pieces within this garden. There were old greek columns, wrought iron gates, stone archways and in the background you could see Lake Ontario. I couldn’t believe that such a cool place was so close to where I live and yet I never knew it existed.
I was much more at ease this time around and we had great time - I can’t wait for the wedding day photos!
