Green Shoes: Check! |
| July 15th, 2009 by BridalBuds |
Hi Gals, thanks to all your help on my recent post about looking for green shoes, I finally have my very own!
So, what do you think of these babies?
In case you’re wondering how these fit into my wardrobe, they don’t. I won’t be wearing any other green on me, just a big ‘ol white dress, crystal jewelry, and a white flower in my hair. My sister will be wearing a green dress of a similar shade (my single MOH), so I think that’ll be fun! Also – from the time I got engaged I swore I would wear green shoes in honour of my favourite colour!!
Once I started looking I was surprised how hard it was to find ‘the perfect shoe’.
These puppies started out as pretty boring run-of the mill bridal shoes:

Colourful Creations 'Prima' shoe
With a little creativity, and a great shoe-dyer, you can totally customize! I also had the shop sew on the vintage-looking rhinestone clips to have a little bling poking out of the bottom of my dress. It was a lesson for me to see past the boring white shoes, and see what I could do with them!

I’m so happy with them, what do you think!? And what colour of toe nail polish should I go with?

They are awesome! I love them! I would totally go with a neutral toe nail polish…maybe with a little sparkle.

I think the polka dots look so cute with your shoes. Why not get polka dots on your toes?

Super cute!! I did the same things with my shoes . . . although with purple instead. I would love to find some rhinestone clips as well . . . humm . . . I wonder where I could find such a thing. As for polish, I think the classic french tip is what I am going with.

I love the green shoes, green is also my favorite color and I’m planning on doing the same thing. I think you should go with a french mani!

Everyone told me I should get a French pedicure, since I was getting a French Manicure. But, I was heading on our honeymoon after the wedding, and wanted my pedicure to last! French Manicures always chip/peel off of me within days, and I didn’t want that to happen to my tootsies. So, I brought my own nail polish to the salon. It was a neutral beige color with sparkles by Mary Kay. My mother was horrified – she prefers bright colors, but I knew it was more “me” and would be perfect for the beach. It was fantastic! My nails, true to form, looked great at the wedding, but begain to chip the next day. But my toenails looked great for weeks. The color didn’t detract from my gown or wedding colors, at all. I agree with Jillian that a neutral, shimmery color is best – something like a beige or pale pink.

Rach – I got the rhinestones right in the bridal shop! They had all kinds of jewelry there to make into hair pieces, earrings, etc.

Where can you get the shoes dyed????????? I LOVE these shoes and am having the hardest time finding GREEN shoes!!!

I picked out plain white shoes at a bridal shop and they did the dying right there! Call local bridal shops to find out if they sell dye-able white satin shoes!
