Finally, My DIY Invitations are Finished! |

Finally I’m ready to show off my final invite! To recap, this was a complete DIY project, with the help of a desktop laser printer, and some blank pocketfolds from Cards & Pockets. Back in May, I showed you the outside of the envelope:

Back of invitation with embossed logo
Now I’m ready to show you the inside! (this will mean blowing the surprise for a few reader-guests, sorry girls!)

Here are some helpful tips I’ve learned through the process:
1. Making address labels was a real time-saver. Since the font matches the invite, it doesn’t look cheap. Hint: print 2 copies so you will have an easy time with thank-you cards!
2. Adhering ribbon to pocketfolds is extremely annoying and if I did it again I would have used a belly-band.
3. I love my custom stamps: the return address stamp and the wedding logo stamp were ordered through etsy.
4. Check postage costs with the post office. Although every invitation website tells you this – I almost forgot! Oops – my invites were $1.18 to mail because of the thick ribbon bow.
5. Invest in a decent printer and paper cutter.
So buds, what do you think? I am so happy they are done, I can’t wait to pop them in the mail next week!

These are fabulous! You did such a fantastic job.
Where on Etsy did you order your custom stamps from? I too am making my wedding invites and am using another stamp as part of the main design. I would love to have the return envelope to be stamped also to keep the look cohesive.
Orchid Buds last blog post..SilverberryOccasions.com has a new look!

Thanks! Orchid – the Etsy seller I used was babyjewels. She made great red-rubber stamps and was very nice to work with.
