Bridal Shower |

I’ll be honest, I really did not want a bridal shower. I’m so not comfortable with being the center of attention. All that attention on the wedding day itself is more than enough for me. I told my matron of honor that I did not want a shower, and she has respected my wishes. However, my cousin very much wanted to throw a shower for family and family-friends. I couldn’t say no.
So Lotus Dude and I drove to Ohio for the shower last weekend. And you know what? It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Yes, there were silly games and a hat made out of bows and ribbons. But there was also time to catch up with family and old friends that I don’t often get to see. I think I had been focusing on the wrong aspect of the event. I kept thinking about potential awkwardness. Instead, it ended up being a wonderful afternoon which allowed me to get back in touch with people in a less formal environment before the wedding.
So if anyone else out there is a little unsure about celebratory bridal events, keep an open mind
It might turn out a lot better than you expect!
