I Have Found The One |
| June 27th, 2009 by Cymbie Bud |
By using the term, The One, I usually mean my man, but this time I mean something almost as important: my dress!
Disclaimer: All posted images are NOT my dress, just ones that I tried on.

My adventure began Monday. I took three days off work to do some wedding planning and dress shopping. Tuesday my sister, who is also my Maid of Honor, went with me to Alfred Angelo. I found two dresses I fell in love with there, but they were a little pricier than what I was wanting to spend. Or rather, what my parents were willing to spend.
So Wednesday began shopping day for my mother, sister and I as we headed to Dallas to a wedding consignment shop we’d heard rave reviews about called Anonymously Yours. I enjoyed the store and the prices, but sadly they did not have much selection in my size.

So I hopped onto the Wedding Wire iPhone app to search for more vendors. We hit several other stores, including an amazing little boutique called Circle Park Bridal Boutique of Addison. I absolutely adored the gowns they had, and the prices were phenomenal. I just didn’t find The One that made me feel most like a bride.
We finally made it back to Fort Worth for my appointment at David’s Bridal, where it happened. I fell in love with a beautiful gown. To say I was picky about my dress would be an understatement. I knew exactly what I wanted: something ivory, with lots of beading and detail.

The dress I ended up picking out was spurred by the urging of my sister, who kept asking me to try on a halter dress all day. I kept refusing but finally gave in at David’s Bridal. I knew the dress was The One the minute I put it on, and my sister’s jaw dropped. When I came out of the dressing room, my mother loved it as well. I did too, though it surprised me a bit. It’s a gorgeous halter, but I’ll save the details for the wedding. We were not even planning on buying my dress that day but we knew we had The One. It is definitely MY dress
