Cartagena Wedding- The Reception

June 21st, 2009 by

We then headed back to the theater, where we were welcomed by our guests at the entrance, with bubbles… it was very cute and unexpected… my dad had bought small tubes of bubbles to give out.

They had lifted the curtain from the stage, revealing our tables… and as I walked down the aisle with my husband, I felt as if I had entered another world, a story on a book… the music and the decorations were astounding.

Thanks to chef Ismael from Capilla del Mar! Outstanding job!

Every single person got up to dance and it was a non-stop party and fun for everyone. At midnight we had a surprise for all our guests… a typical group of dancers performed some Colombian Cumbias and we then had a mini Carnaval… al guests received masks, whistles, and all sorts of accessories and this lasted about 40 minutes. It was a memorable experience for everyone.

When the party ended, Magnolia Dude and I headed back to Hotel Charleston for our wedding night… and the next day, it was off to Isla Palma for our honeymoon.

I could not have dreamed of a better wedding… everything was beautiful, well organized, not a single minute lost…. photographers only there at appropriate times.. I even enjoyed sitting down for dinner, and did not miss a single person in any photos… talked to everyone, hugged everyone, danced with everyone…

Thank you CHICHE! You are the best wedding planner in the world! I love you!

Thank you! We did have a great time, there wasn’t a single person sitting down all night :) I wish I could do it all over again! Maybe for our 5 year anniversary hehehehe.

Beautiful pictures! I wanted to know who was your wedding planner? My fiancee and I would like to have our wedding in Colombia since that’s where my family lives. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi~
I’m planning a wedding there. I was curious to know what your budget was and how many guests you had. I have so many questions, but this is my main one.

    Hi~
Your wedding looks beautiful and so much fun. I am originally from Medellin and am really considering having the wedding in Colombia. I am in love with Cartagena, but have no idea how much a wedding there could cost. I’m trying to throw a budget together for about 150-170 people, do you mind sharing an estimate of your budget and what was included?

    Thank you and congrats
