Cartagena Wedding- The Ceremony |

At 5:15 we were finally told it was ok to go… and my dad and I got on the horse carriage… a short 10 minute ride…. but it was a great experience… many tourists would scream and ask to take pictures of us, the entire town would clap as we passed.
We finally arrived to the theater, and the bridal party began their walk down the aisle, starting with my Magnolia honey and his mom, followed by my beautiful flower girl Valentina, and my two little ringbearers Matias and Nicolas…. and finally, my dad and I.
The entrance into that majestic theater was something I had dreamed of for a year… and it finally came through, walking down that aisle…. it felt like a fairy tale and this is what most of our guests described it as. This theater is a very historical monument in Cartagena and it has been in many movies including “Love in the time of cholera” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
My wedding planner really read into my thoughts, and ideas, and created a fantasy decoration that went along with the theater.
I was very glad we had picked the color Emerald Green for my bridesmaids because they looked beautiful and looked like part of the painting on the back curtain.
The ceremony, performed by Dr. Paul, was very nice, full of love, personal messages, and warmth. Instead of candles we had a sand ceremony where we both combined two vases of sand into one. We had musicians (violinists, piano, and opera singers) performing during various part of the ceremony and my favorite was the song “Por Ti Volare” sang before our vows.
When the ceremony ended, Mr. and Mrs. Magnolia headed out of the theater for our photoshoot around the city, while our guests enjoyed a cocktail with background music from a saxophone player, and ors d’oeuvres.
The photographers took us on a horse carriage around the city for about 20 minutes, taking beautiful pictures of us in this amazing romantic city.

Your wedding looks beautiful! I’m seriously considering having my wedding in Colombia as well. Do you have any advice or tips or people I should contact first? Sorry, I’m not sure how to contact you so I thought I would leave a comment. Thanks so much for all your posts, it makes me lean more toward choosing a destination wedding!
