Bridesmaid Dresses, Check!

May 12th, 2009 by

Our bridesmaid dresses have now been ordered! I have to say that this was one of the most stressful parts of the planning so far. Not that the ladies were difficult, but just that coordinating 5 different dress try ons, measurements, ordering, etc, was a little much. My dearest sister and MOH has been handling two other huge things for me, the shower and a girls NYC weekend, so I took on the coordination of the dresses. I wrote before around Christmas time that my sister had chosen dress 855 by Bill Levkoff in Euro Red for all the girls, but then my stepsister tried it on and the style didn’t work. And so, we arrived at the 1 designer, 1 fabric, 1 color, 5 dresses idea. Over the last three months, one by one, everyone has chosen a dress:

MOH changed to 901, Stepsister in 453, Oldest friend in 855, College friend in 900, and running friend in 912. We ordered through RK Bridal in NYC, a place that will price match the best price online, and will also have the dresses cut from the same dye lot. In addition, they have a few different options for levels of service. You can chose their no frills price for the cheapest price but very self serve, or the standard MSRP for their more hands on approach. Since only one bridesmaid was local, we did the no frills option.

Since the dresses are long, I’m not concerned about shoes. I purchased 5 wraps in Chinatown for $20 in a tan color in case its chilly in October. I’m leaving the hair and jewelry up to them. I can’t wait to see what they all look like.
