Wedding Flowers

March 2nd, 2009 by

Rose Budette really loves baby’s breath. I am not a big flower person, so I am going along with whatever she wants on this one. We want to use baby’s breath in our table arrangements for the reception. We have a few ideas, but found this picture on Martha Stewart’s website.

What do you think? It is simple, yet elegant. That’s the underlying theme of our wedding, so we want to stay in line with that when it comes to flowers. We thought we’d save a little money using Babysbreath, but it turns out using babysbreath won’t save us that much on our decorations budget. Especially if you’re using a lot of it! But, it is simple, elegant, and will look very pretty on the tables at our reception. I can’t wait to see what our final arrangement will look like; I’ll post pictures when we get them!

I’m with you and your budette… I love baby’s breath!!! I wanted to use it as aisle decoration, but to be honest, have received some very negative feedback about it… ie. “eeww, but it’s filler flower!”. I say go for it!! Filler or not, it’s romantic, simple, and elegant! I still might sneak it in!!

    Geranium Bud,
Thanks for your feedback on flowers. We both love baby’s breath, but we’ve also gotten the negative feedback. Here’s how I deal with that — I ask the negative responders if they’d like ot pay for roses or other flowers! Then changes their tune quickly! I hope to have more pictures soon on baby’s breath examples. Thanks for the comment!

i say go for the baby’s breath. It makes a huge impact when it’s gathered alone. The flower is whimsical and petite and gorgeous. Who cares if SOMEONE ELSE thinks it’s a filler…when they see your arrangements and/or bouquet I bet they’ll ask “what kind of flower is that?”. then you can answer ” Gypsophila. :)
