Save the Date Drama |

I am fond of DIY projects, so I decided to take on designing my own Save the Dates. I had a great idea inspired by Dandelion Bud’s postcards, but the end result didn’t turn out as well as I would have liked:

I printed one out and they looked great at a distant, but even at a comfortable reading distant, you could see the pictures were pixelated and overall quality fuzzy. The poor quality comes from using a less than stellar editing program. Of course, I didn’t notice this at first because I had just spend several hours staring at a computer screen and blamed to fuzziness of that…
The next day, I sent the file to my sister to get her opinion. Was the quality too poor to print? In her brutally honest fashion (which is exactly what I was looking for), I got a resounding “Yes!”
Just when I was about to give up on the idea, my sister volunteered to recreate my design using higher quality software. After a few tries, she tried something I hadn’t even thought of and I loved it. After a week and a half of back-and-forth, I ended up with this as my Save the Date, thanks to my sister:

We are printing them as postcards and also getting a few magnets from Vista Print, which Plumeria Bud and Dandelion Bud, among other Buds to be sure, used too.
DIY projects are great when you have adequate creativity, time, energy, and resources, and I almost didn’t have these things while getting my Save the Dates done. I had a few moments when I wanted to strangle my sister and a few times when I wanted to just give up on the whole idea, so I am really happy with the way they turned out.

They came out cute =) You can also print them 4×6 style at walgreens and mail them in envelopes.

We used Vista Print for our save the date magnets. Highly recommended!
