Best Travel Dates

February 3rd, 2009 by

When picking a date for our wedding, we focused mainly on the weather conditions at the location of our ceremony and reception.  However, when it came down to deciding on where we wanted to go for our honeymoon, we realized one of our very favorite places to visit didn’t have the ideal weather during the same time. We absolutely LOVE the Caribbeans, but we’re getting married in the fall and as most of you know, that means hurricane season.

Some people have suggested that we take the risk and still go there. Others have said to delay the honeymoon or even go early. However, I am not a big risk taker and I have always liked the idea of going on a honeymoon directly after the wedding.  Therefore, we have decided to look elsewhere and are now most likely leaning towards the beautiful Greek isles.

Since we love to travel, we’ll probably have to be creative on where we go for our anniversaries and choose others reasons to visit the Caribbeans islands…which I’m sure won’t be too hard as there’s always reasons to escape to paradise.

So… when you are thinking of what date to choose, you may also want to consider the weather of your ideal vacation spots to celebrate. If you are like me and want a warm weather honeymoon, here’s a list of suggested places by month from the Knot. Happy Planning!

We took two major things into account when we selected our date: spring break and hurricane season!
